Munthiri/Raisin Achar

Every Malayalee who watched "Akkara Kazhchagal" will never forget appachan and his munthiri achar.I never knew munthiri can be made into achar until I saw the receipe in Sarah's blog.

Ingredients:

Raisins / munthiri -  1 cup ,I used california rains  from costco
ginger chopped - 1 tablespoon
garlic chopped - 1 tablesppon
greenchilles - 4 nos finely chopped into round 
chilly powder - 2 teaspoon
turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
sugar - 2 tablespoon
salt
vinegar - 3/4 cups
mustard seeds -1teaspoon
oil - 2 tablespoon

Method:
Heat oil,  add mustard seeds when they splutter ,add  ginger ,garlic and green chillies and fry till they are light brown .Reduce the flame to low, add raisins ,chilly powder and turmeric.Stir for 5- 10 min .
Take the pan off from heat add salt, sugar and vinegar . Store in a clean glass jar .Beter to have the next day when the spices blend well.
