Green coconut chutney

My dear friend A, introduced me to the book SAVORING THE SPICE COAST OF INDIA by Maya Kaimal. I got the book from the local library and started reading it. It had lot of simple recipes in it .I got this green coconut chutney from this book. I tried this chutney first time with chicken biriyani, but J loved it a lot and wanted it for idly and dosa too.

Ingredients:
1 cup grated coconut
1tbsp chopped onion
1 fresh green chilly chopped
11/2 tsp chopped ginger
1/4 cup cilantro
3/4 tsp salt
1 tsp fresh lime juice
1/4 cup curd/yogurt
Seasoning:
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
2 dried red chilly
8- 10 fresh curry leaves

Directions:
Combine all the ingredients, except the those in seasoning section  with 1 cup of water in a food processor and ring to smooth paste. In a frying pan, heat oil add mustard seeds and cover, when the seeds pop, toss in the dried red chillies and curry leaves. After the leaves crackle for a few seconds,
pour the coconut mixture into thepan.Stir to combine and remove from heat.Serve it with hot dosa and idly.

Note: If seasoned you can use it for dosa and idli. If not it become biriyani chammanthi .
