Rava Upma




Ingredients:
Rava/Semolina/Sooji - 2 cup
urad dal - 2tsp
mustard seeds - 1tsp
onion - chopped - 2 tbsp
ginger - 1/2 inch piece chopped
curry leaves - 1 sprig
green chilly - 2 cut into round pieces("Vattathil murichathu")
water - 5 cups
salt to taste
sugar - 1 tsp

Directions:
Roast rava in a pan and keep aside .Heat oil in a pan and when it is hot ,splutter mustard seeds,followed by urad dal, curryleaves,ginger and green chillies.When urad dal slightly changes color, add chopped onion and fry well.Add 5 cups of water, salt to taste and sugar and allow the water to boil very well. When water starts boiling, add the roasted rava into the boiling water and stir with a spatula  simuntaneously so that the upma don't get lumps in it .Be very careful at this point.Stir the upmawell  till the water evaporates .Turn off the heat and cover with a lid. Serve warm with banana.
